When will Angelica be ready to buy?
At the end of February. (hopefully!) Many thanks Jackie S, Reading, Berkshire
Simple... Everything we grow and supply to you IS HARDY, apart from ALL varieties of Basil, that's why it is a bit later than everything else. Thank you Rachel B, Southampton
Can you tell me if Basil is hardy enough to plant outside, or does it need to go on a window sill. I have bought Basil from Supermarkets and they always die, what am I doing wrong?
Basil can be planted outside between late June and early August but we prefer a sunny windowsill as Basil hates any cold. Supermarket herbs have a sell by date, meaning they are grown to only last a little while, so you go back and buy some more, it's not you it's them! Many thanks Adam S, Swindon
How can I grow Parsley successfully?
Parsley requires a deep, well drained soil as it has quite a long tap root. This long root keeps the plant quenched when in drought conditions. Parsley also likes a lot of sunshine to thrive. It is also a good idea to 'USE' it by regularly taking the larger leaves to enhance your garlic butter! Mulch in Spring with some well rotted leaves. Thanks Andrea W, Eastleigh
Sorrel is a hardy perrenial. It remains in situ and comes up every year. Thanks David F, Salisbury
Well, yes you can. Bear in mind that inside is a whole lot warmer than outside so the herbs are going to grow faster. They are going to need lots of light, but not direct burning sun through glass. They will also need watering more frequently. It is all down to common sense, look after them and they will look after you. Just ask if you are stuck! Thanks Janet G, Virginia Water
Well, all you need to do is go to the 'Herb Shop' tab at the top of the page and click on what you want to buy, your herbs will be added to your cart and you can check out on the button provided. It really is quite simple!
Will my herbs grow on a windowsill?
Well, yes, although they will require looking after, not just to water and leave to defend for themselves. They will need plenty of light and rotating often. If the room is warm, they will obviously need watering more, but do not saturate. Any problems, just get back in touch. Thanks to Mrs D, Oxford
How many lavender plants do I need for a 30 metre border to make a hedge?
As a general rule you can plant singly every 25cm or for a thicker hedge you can 'double row' or plant 'stepped'.
Thanks to Mrs V, Dorset
French Tarragon is the one we grow for it's intense earthy aniseed taste. We like to use it with Halloumi or to jazz up macaroni cheese. Lovely steeped in E.V olive oil and drizzled over a rocket salad. Many dishes can use Tarragon so be brave and try stuff! Thanks to Mr W, Liverpool
